Practical Visit the bbc school's science clips website(see attached)Do the LIGHT&DARK quiz and the ELECTRICITY quiz. Make a simple circuit.You could attach a light or buzzer.Ask an adult for help. Keep a daily record of what time the sun goes down and it starts to get dark. How do we get a rainbow?Find out.Can you make one?write an explanation.Draw a rainbow using the correct colours.  
Science/History Use google as a search engine to find out about the Gunpowder Plot and why we celebrate Bonfire Night. Find out 5 interesting facts about the Great Fire of London in 1666.Tell me about it in your own way. Even though the moon is not really a source of light, can you keep a record of how it looks and changes every night for 4 weeks. Find out as many sources of light in your house.Take a picture and label them.  
Art/Creative Design some new Christmas wrapping paper on your computer.Print it yourself. What is a rangoli pattern?Who makes them and what for?Design a rangoli pattern on squared paper. Design and make a 3D model of a firework(pretend of course!)Use 2D shapes to decorate it.  Make a sign for a shop in old London Town at the time of the Great Fire in 1666. e.g, bakers, boot makers, hat shop.  
Literacy Write a poem about Bonfire night. Illustrate is and use lots of onomatopoeia. E.g boom, crash, whoosh, zip. Find out something about Diwali. Design a poster inviting someone to the celebration. Make a book about the Gunpowder plot. Imagine you were the baker that started the fire in 1666. Write a recount telling your side of the story.
