Dear Parents
At the start of a
new school year there seems to be an overload of information. Hopefully you will find it useful and
hopefully I will have included everything in the letters. If you have any queries please do not
hesitate to contact the school.
Attached to this
letter is the diary of the major planned events throughout the year, these
dates are as accurate as possible but some may have to change throughout the
year due to unforeseen circumstances.
Hopefully this diary will enable family holidays not to be booked during
term time.
Mr. O’Neil has
again kindly agreed to put some things on the website and is teaching Rosie to
be able to run the website for us. I
would like to thank him again for helping us with this project.
As usual we try
and support charities throughout the year, we will again be collecting shoe
boxes for the Christmas Child charity, more details will follow later. The other charity this term we are
supporting will be the Cynthia Spencer Trust which raises money for a local
hospice and the Macmillan Cancer Nurses.
To raise some money for this charity there is a 5 mile cycle ride that
Polly Chadwick will be completing on Sunday September 7th – Polly’s
7th birthday and to support her I have suggested that we try to
collect 500 meters of 2p pieces to be arranged in the school hall and marked
off each day. All this money will go to
the charity. Please support this
charity by sending in 2p coins to join the trail.
Again we will be
holding our open assemblies on Thursdays from 9.05 to 9.15 – these will be a
mixture of class assemblies, good work
and star of the week assemblies. All
parents are welcome to attend these assemblies.
As you are all
aware we run CAT’s club every afternoon and have been charging £5.00 per
session for the last 7 years. We have
now decided to increase this to £6.00 per session with immediate effect – this
is still really good value for money child care so please continue to support
us at this club, your children really enjoy the varied activities and snacks
planned by the staff who run this club.
All clubs will be
starting next week and this year we hope to be running a range of new clubs as
well as some older ones from previous years.
If anyone would like to run a club at school please contact the office.
